AQUALUNG supports Breast Cancer Research and Support by each new BC sold: The sales revenue could be spread out to the whole world instead ..
The Pearl i3, featuring our advanced i3 technology, was designed for stylish women who demand superior performance.
And now Aqua Lung gives back to women by supporting an important cause that has affected our employees and their families, and women all around the country.
We are pleased to announce that Aqua Lung will be making a cash donation to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research based upon the success of the Pearl i3. The more Pearl i3 BCs that are sold (all 3 colors), the larger the donation will be. While a donation of $4,000 – $5,000 is anticipated, Aqua Lung guarantees a minimum donation of $2,500.
The donations will be used to fund research, treatment and education programs to fight and cure breast cancer – the most common cancer among women, other than skin cancer, and the second leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer. Approximately 178,480 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2007 and about 40,460 will die from the disease this year. The chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer some time during her life is about 1 in 8.
There is hope. Right now there are slightly over 2 million women living in the United States who have been treated for breast cancer and the death rates from the disease are going down. The decline is partly the result of finding the cancer earlier and improved treatment options from breast cancer research. *
*These statistics and more information on breast cancer can be found at www.cancer.org
Each Pearl i3 purchased also includes an exclusive Breast Cancer pink ribbon medallion. (While supplies last)
